It’s been reported to Basekompa that Fusion manager Archil paid a visit to Elie Lapointe at his house since he has not been picking calls from the Fusion camp. Things didn’t go as expected to a point where police was called…(READ BELOW)
We learned that Archil went to Elie Lapointe’s house this afternoon on Belvedere in West Palm Beach to talk and to retrieve Fusion’s belongings that are still in Elie Lapointe’s possession. Among them, there is $800 computer and some other electronic devices that Mr. St Hilaire bought on his credit card for Fusion while they were in the process of building their own studio for the band. Elie Lapointe was inside but would not open the door to meet with Archil according the source, police was called a few minutes later on Archil for disturbance.
However, when we got in touch with the Fusion camp on that, Erick Hilaire told Basekompa.com that Archil is the one who actually called the police to let them know that Archil has his belongings inside Elie Lapointe’s apartment, but Elie would not open the door. One the police officers attempted to speak with Elie as well by knocking on the door, he didn’t respond. Archil was told by police that the only option he has left he really wants to get his stuffs from Mr. Lapointe is to take him to court.
The Fusion camp said this is an unfinished business and the same thing that happened to them with Reginald Cange (Fasil) won’t repeat again. This time Elie Lapointe will have to return these materials.
A suive…
Your thoughts and comments would be greatly appreciated.

Misty Jean and her band Performed on Friday September 18 at SOBs Manhattan Haitian Dance Party. Thought the whether was gorgeous and the only other party going on in town was Daan Junior & Oxygen the turn out was low. But the folks who made it to the show got a good one for their money. With a band including such big name musicians like Robert Martino & Joe Charles, Misty Jean delivered an a very energetic and entertaining performance. She played some of her biggest hits like Se ou mwen vle & Ki jan la ri a ye and even treated the small crowd that came to support her with her rendition of classics like Jaqueline Denis’ Ankò Ankò as well as a Konpa version of the RnB mega hit Live your life (T.I. & Rihana).

OpaMizik.com has learned that Phantoms’ recently departed lead singer King Kino is in the process of forming a new band due out very soon. Kino, who left Phantoms following disagreements with band mates regarding the group’s direction, has gathered some of the industries finest to form what is suppose to be an all-star band. The tentative name for this new venture is “King Kino, the New Testament.” The name is not written in stone yet but for now it is one of the finalists being thrown around.
The original idea came after a gig was scheduled for Kino & Phantoms to appear with Zeklè in Haiti at Caribe but since Phantoms and Kino opted to go their separate ways, the singer decided to gather a star-studded line-up to back him up. Though the deal with Zeklè is still in negotiations, Kino isn’t taking any chances. He is getting ready for the possibility. A photo shoot was held this week and art work is being put together as well as the music.
So far, the line-up looks like this:
King Kino – Vocal
Ronald Felix – Bass,
Jean Max Valcourt (DOLA) – Keyboards
Gary Josama – Guitar
Makarios Cesaire – guitar
Still in Negotiation:
Laporte Gabriel- Guitar
Youyou- Bass
Manny Laine – Drums
And three female back up singer based in Haiti.
We’ve also learned that even before things get off the ground, the soon-to-be-band is already facing obstacles and internal issues. Because of past histories and egos, some of the musicians are not exactly looking forward to be on the same team as others; and Kino had to put on the “leader” hat to play mediator.
As I’m typing this, the scheduled date for the premiere is October 16 with Zeklè, and if all goes well they plan to keep this band around and take it as far as they can.

SAKALAWE has 10 songs: Se Bon, Anba Vant, Kimbe La, Sekre Lanmou, Fo Chache, Medley Toi & Moi, Pa fe’m soufri, Montre’m li, Magnum Funk, Chante Pou yo.
As you can see none of the songs is related to cover title.
What is SAKALAKAWE..? Is it a marketing gimmick…I really do not know..Will the title sell the CDs or turn folks down?

During a video interview with Basekompa Richie was asked to comment on Laporte joining 5-Etwal. This is what he said..(READ BELOW![]()
Richie It’s a big plus for any HMI band that Laporte decides to join because he something to offer that you won’t find from any regular guitar player. I asked him on the same token if he doesn’t believe it might be a negative aspect for that band considering Laporte’s reputation. The maestro said it can be bad for a band that doesn’t know how to use him, otherwise Laporte has a lot to offer.

HARMONIK manager RODNEY NOEL has made it OFFICIAL.
The group has replaced their bass player MARC HAROLD with a gentleman named DICKENS, who used to play with BELJAZ, and also MAMINA. He was NOT part of a group when he joined Harmonik.
From what we know, he was being courted by FLEXIB (JBEATZ’s group), and he was also the one who according to sources, allegedly had to stay behind in Montreal for a few months after going there with BELJAZ, for “reasons”. Now he is part of a group whose popularity is rising HARMONIK.
MARC HAROLD was apparently let go because musically speaking, he was not giving the group “EXACTLY” what they were looking for

BRUTUS told KOMPA MAGAZINE that he was very disturbed by an UNDERCOVER FILE that was written on a HMI musician on the board yesterday, which he says that the fans are saying it’s LAPORTE.
BRUTUS explained that LAPORTE NEEDS TO SAY WITH HIS OWN MOUTH if he is part of ZENGLEN or not, and that if certain claims/assumptions that are being made are pointing at him, he needs to clarify things.
BRUTUS said that the only reason he is not addressing the KM UNDERCOVER FILE is because ZENGLEN was not written in the article, so he understands that the UNDERCOVER FILE could be about anyone.
BRUTUS once again says LAPORTE is the one with all the answers to all the speculations/rumors.
Thank’s KM

The HMI is buzzing about the attack on HMI star, TVICE vocalist ROBERTO MARTINO in Miami.
The question that is being asked among HMI circles “EN SOUDINE” is
*Was this a random freak attack where the assailant got mad about something and threw what he threw at Roberto, or on the stage, and it hit the vocalist
OR
*Was ROBERTO targeted specifically by the assailant because of T-VICE business or retaliation for something of some sort?
That is the mystery surrounding this whole issue…..

Miami, Florida, September 17th 2009 – Haitian super group Lakol announces their return to the music scene. Lakol 2K10 will reunite original founding members and brothers, Vladimir and Stanley Toussaint and feature a stellar line up of fresh faces including acclaimed Gospel and R’n’B bass player, Marc “Sexy Beef” Celestin Jr.The driving force behind the new Lakol is iconic lead singer/producer Stanley Toussaint aka ‘’Tantan’’ who has been called “the greatest Haitian vocalist of all time”. In the 1990’s Tantan and Lakol revolutionized the Nouvel Generation movement with hits like ‘Siwel’ and ‘Dife’; their groundbreaking single ‘Ole Ole’, which was composed and produced by Tantan, won ‘Song of the Year’ at the Caribbean Music Awards in New York. The song later went on to become the first ever Konpa video to be broadcast on American mainstream television and radio networks including: BET, MTV International, Telemundo and New York’s WBLS Radio. In 2005 Tantan shot to the top of the charts with his solo debut mega hit “Pam, Pam, Pam”; taking home several awards including ‘Best Song’ and ‘Artist of the Year’. Tantan is currently composing fresh material for Lakol and using innovative arrangements to breathe new life into their classic hits. Lakol’s new sound is pure rhythmic seduction fusing driving hard-core Konpa rhythms with R’n’B while showcasing Tantan’s signature, smooth, honeyed vocals
In the words of Tantan, “This is not a reunion it’s a rebirth. This is a revolution in Konpa music; it’s the evolution of Lakol.” The group will kick off the first leg of their upcoming world tour in November at Musique en Folie followed by a National tour of Haiti. Other countries slated for their tour route in 2010 include: France, the French Caribbean, the United States and Canada. And, with their high voltage stage performances and fresh skills, style and attitude, one thing is guaranteed: Lakol promises to be a force to be reckoned with.
